Q: What’s your role at Today Digital, and what is a day at work like for you?

A: I’m a technology journalist for XR Today, and I’ve worked with Today Digital for around three and a half years now. Even before that, though, I was passionate about the extended reality space. From inside of the sector, I’ve followed the evolution of XR, from Oculus to Meta, and beyond.

Working at the heart of the XR Today team, my day usually involves keeping up with the latest extended reality news, and entrenching myself among the growing members of the XR community. Those people are always so inviting, inspiring, and eager to share knowledge to help drive the growth of the sector on a massive scale.

Q: What are your personal goals, and has working with Today Digital helped you to make any progress towards them?

A: Like many of my team members, I have a lot of passions and ambitions outside of work, from artistic endeavors to fitness-focused targets and a love of social experiences. I love trying new things, and connecting with others, and Today Digital has given me the freedom I need to pursue what I love when I’m not focusing on my career.

The four-day work week, and the flexibility of Today Digital means I can balance my personal and professional goals to become the best version of myself.

Q: Tell us about the most memorable project you’ve been involved with while working at Today Digital so far.

A: Covering the NVIDIA GTC event was probably the most interesting project I’ve been involved with at XR Today. The NVIDIA press team very kindly invited me to San Jose, where I got to witness a truly awe-inspiring show. Plus, I had a great opportunity to meet with new and familiar faces at the event, giving me deeper insights into how the industry was evolving.

I also had a day to myself before the event, so I had plenty of time to explore San Jose, Burbank neighborhood, and various parts of the city. I have to say, the trip gave me a real appreciation for the history and culture of the area.

Q: What have been some of your biggest professional achievements so far?

A: Over the past ten years, I’ve grown a lot as a person, from an educational, professional, and personal perspective. The main thing I’ve learned during this time is that the only way to really achieve anything is to go out of your way to achieve your goals.

Opportunities aren’t handed to us, and if you don’t ask you don’t get. I’m really lucky to say that in Today Digital, I can really follow this ethos. I have a professional environment that actively encourages autonomy, ambition, and growth.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about you?

A: I’m a really experience-driven person. I love meeting new people and leaving my comfort zone behind – something I’ve been able to do regularly with Today Digital. My curious nature, and the environment I’ve been exposed to in this workplace has really helped me to grow massively over the years. I encourage everyone to take the same approach.

Don’t be afraid to find new things and explore. Your life, and career will be a lot more interesting if you do.
