Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Jordan Paterson, a Senior Account Manager that joined our team in April 2024.
Meet Jordan: Quick-Fire Personality Insights
Q: Who’s your favourite musician or band?
A: Big Punisher: he was a 50-stone rapper from NYC who ignited my love of Hip-Hop music. Check him out if you haven’t already!
Q: Do you have any talents/ interests outside of work?
A: I actually trained to become an actor. I tried to break into the industry for about 7 years, and actually managed to get a few roles. Eventually, though, I switched my focus to sales.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: I love Italian and Indian food, but if I had to choose only one cuisine to eat for the rest of my life, I’d have to pick Indian.
Q: Where’s your top vacation destination?
A: I’d love to visit Australia one day, and go diving in a cage to check out the Great White sharks.
Q: Do you have any pets? What are their names?
A: I don’t have any pets myself, but I do get to dog-sit a blue Staffy called Hutch sometimes. He’s great fun.
Q: What’s your favourite movie and/or television show?
A: My favorite movie has to be Forrest Gump, and my top TV obsession is Breaking Bad.
Q: Who’s your role model?
A: Neil Strauss. If you don’t know him, he’s an amazing American author, who has written books on lots of interesting subjects. I particularly like his autobiographical works. They take you through an amazing journey of triumphs and losses, with insights into human nature.
Q: Tell us something unusual about yourself.
A: I was born with 12 toes.
Q: If you were a super hero what would your superpower be?
A: I would love to be able to teleport anywhere in the world in seconds. You could see the world and do whatever you wanted to do (without the travel costs)

Q: What’s your role at Today Digital, and what does a typical day usually involve?
A: I’m a Senior Account Manager – it’s a fantastic, fast-paced and diverse role that allows me to take advantage of my sales knowledge, and constantly learn new things. Though no two days are exactly alike, my focus is always on building and maintaining relationships with our clients.
I spend a lot of time researching companies, learning about their needs, and identifying if they’re a good fit for one of our four publications. Then, I schedule in-depth conversations with our clients, to see what we can do to help them with their marketing challenges, and goals.
Q: What are your goals (personal or professional), and does working with Today Digital help you achieve them?
A: I set a personal goal early in my life to become as successful as possible in my chosen career – whatever that entailed. When I stepped into the sales landscape, I really wanted to challenge myself, and work with a company that had lots of potential, and avenues for growth.
Today Digital was the perfect match for my ambitions – the company is evolving at an incredible rate, and working here has given me a chance to rapidly evolve too. I hope to continue to build my career within the company, and help Today Digital thrive going forward.
Q: How would you describe Today Digital’s company culture? Is there anything you particularly like about it?
A: The company, and the culture are both amazing here. Everyone is really friendly, helpful, and extremely passionate and knowledgeable about their fields. I joined the business with a lot of sales knowledge, but no real technology background.
The whole team gave me the tools I needed to learn how the industry works, understand our clients, and stay ahead of the emerging trends. Everyone really helped me to settle into my role, and my colleagues are still helping me to grow today. I also love how close the team is, and how our bonds are nurtured by our fantastic summer and winter recharge events.
Q: What has your biggest growth milestone been with Today Digital?
A: For me, it’s been learning all about the different technology niches we focus on with our various publications. I came to this role from a legal sales background, so it was fantastic to get so much support from the team when I was just starting out in the tech industry.
The onboarding experience I got here was extremely in-depth, informative, and engaging. Plus, I still get continued guidance from my colleagues. Today, I’m a lot more confident in the technology landscape. I understand how our client’s products work, and the customers they want to reach.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting out in a career like yours (or with Today Digital), what would it be?
A: Jump in and take the risk. Even if you’re uncertain, sometimes the best experiences come from taking the leap. In my case, a change of career felt scary, but I knew I wanted to be a part of Today Digital as soon as I met the team.
Everyone here gave me a wonderful sense of what the future could hold, and they’re all committed to helping me thrive in my role. With Today Digital, I really feel trusted, respected, and ready to harness my potential as an account manager.
